20-Inch PP Carry-On Luggage for Cabin Baggage

Cabin cases are the fastest-moving size in every market we ship to, and the one where a millimetre of oversize turns into a gate fee. This page covers what to confirm before you commit to a cabin model.

Cabin size is not one number

Airlines do not share a cabin limit. The common reference is around 55 × 40 × 20 cm, while several carriers allow nearer 56 × 45 × 25 cm, and the measurement that counts includes wheels and handles — not just the shell.

This matters commercially: a case sold as cabin size that does not fit a sizer becomes a return. Before you order, tell us the airlines your market flies and the limit you want to meet, and we will confirm the external dimension of the model rather than quoting the shell size.

Why PP suits a cabin case

Cabin cases take more handling per trip than checked cases — overhead bins, tight aisles, being pulled by one wheel. A PP shell flexes under that treatment and returns to shape; ABS in the same situation tends to crack at the corner.

The trade-off is weight. A thin PP wall is light, but every gram counts against a cabin allowance, so the wheel and trolley assembly matters as much as the shell. Ask for the net weight of the finished case, not the shell.

What to fix in the spec before you quote

Five things decide whether a cabin case works in your market:

  • External dimension including wheels, against your target airline
  • Net weight of the finished case
  • Wheel type — dual spinner wheels track better in an aisle than single wheels
  • Lock — combination lock is standard, TSA lock available on request; confirm what your customs market expects
  • Expandability — a zip expansion adds capacity but also adds depth, which can break a cabin limit

Selling cabin alone, or as part of a set

Cabin-only orders reorder faster and cost less per unit to try. Sets sell at a higher basket value but tie up more stock in the slower-moving large size.

A practical middle path: order the cabin as the hero, with a smaller number of mediums behind it, and add the large only when the cabin proves itself. Because the models are already in production, adding a size to a repeat order is not a new project.

Questions buyers ask on this

Is a 20-inch case guaranteed to fit every airline?

No, and any supplier who says so is guessing. The 20-inch figure refers to the shell height on most models; the external height with wheels and handle is what the airline measures. Tell us the limit you need to meet and we will confirm the external dimensions of the model before you order.

What does a 20-inch PP cabin case weigh?

It varies with shell thickness, wheel set and trolley, so we quote the net weight per model rather than a range across the range. Ask for it with the price.

Can the cabin case be sold with a matching medium and large?

Yes — that is the three-piece set, and the colour matches because the shells come from the same batch. See the PP luggage sets page for the configurations.

Can I order cabin cases only?

Yes. Cabin-only is one of the most common first orders because it is the smallest commitment that still tests the market.

Are the wheels replaceable?

On most models the wheel housing is a serviceable part. Confirm per model before you promise spares in your market — it is a question worth asking even if you never sell a replacement wheel.

Send the model and the quantity.

You get what is possible at that volume, a price, and the sample timeline — not a catalogue download.
